Yerevan /Mediamax/. Supreme Body of ARF “Dashnaktsutyun” came up with a statement today on Armenia’s Government Program and its structure.

“Despite the approaches and commitments, voiced by the current government, the Government Program does not cover reforms in political system, as well as issues of direct democracy, freedom of speech and media, electoral system, elimination of super Prime Minister system.

On the one hand, the promised reforms have been neglected and, on the other hand, an attempt is undertaken to replace the government with PM, overcentralizing the power of collegial government, which will hinder the development of democracy in the country,” the statement reads.

According to ARF, the program doesn’t show due attention to national security, including mechanisms of guaranteeing military-political security in Artsakh.

ARF remarks that there are also certain gaps in sectors of culture, education, science development, and ties with Diaspora.

“Passive social-economic politics of neoliberal ideology that contradicts with social and market economy, provided for by the Armenian Constitution, cannot secure relevant economic development and social justice in Armenia. Ignoring issues of the social justice, as well as distribution of the national product will increase polarization of the society, deepen the gap between the rich and the poor and jeopardize the solidarity in the society,” ARF summarized.
