Yerevan /Mediamax/. Avet Adonts has been appointed Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia by the decision of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
Previously, Avet Adonts served as Armenian Ambassador to Spain.
He was appointed to that position in August 2014, and before that, in 2009-2014, he was Ambassador of Armenia to Belgium and the European Union.
Adonts worked as Second Secretary in the Armenian Embassy in Belgium in 1994-1996 and as Head of Economic Organizations Division in the Armenian MFA in 1996-1998.
In 1998-2001, Adonts was part of the Mission of Armenia to the EU, first as counselor and then as envoy extraordinary and minister plenipotentiary.
In 2002-2007, he was Head of the External Relations Department at the Office of the Armenian president.
Avet Adonts was awarded the diplomatic rank of envoy extraordinary and minister plenipotentiary in 2003 and the rank of ambassador of Armenia in 2007.
