Yerevan /Mediamax/. The National periodical, published in UAE, has presented new evidence that Syrian militants are fighting for Azerbaijan in Karabakh.
In the article “Turkey’s Syrian militias in Nagorno-Karabakh ask: “Why are we here?” the periodical reports about the conversation it has had with one of the militants, who “sounded terrified.”
In particular, he said:
“We lost so many guys, I couldn’t count how many.”
“I don’t know what we are doing here.”
“The Turks put us in such a position that we can't any more escape from here.”
The militant’s name is Ibrahim, he is a father of three. He has told The National that Azerbaijani troops “are kilometers behind us” and that left his group with support only from Turkish drones.
Ibrahim, who is a member of Sultan Murad Brigade, has also said he was fighting close to the border of Iran. According to Ibrahim’s estimate, there are round 3,000 Syrian mercenaries fighting for Azerbaijan and Turkey in Karabakh.
“On Friday alone we lost six men and 30 of us were injured and had to be transported to Baku,” added Ibrahim.
