Yerevan /Mediamax/. President of the Armenian National Assembly Ararat Mirzoyan and Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II have discussed matters relating to international conventions and education standards today.

According to the press service of the National Assembly, Ararat Mirzoyan has said that the parties currently discuss a number of issues of public importance which pertain to the relations between the church and the state, the church and the educational system. He has noted that the Church has been a pillar of the Armenian nation throughout centuries and remains in close cooperation with the state in the 21st century for the sake of the nation’s welfare.

Catholicos Karekin II has stated that Armenian people and state are facing multiple issues and attached significant importance to the legislative mission of the National Assembly in overcoming challenges, the press service said in a statement.
