Yerevan/Mediamax/. Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsian stated today that “we purchase equipment and services at unacceptably high prices” at the expense of the credit means, received from the World Bank.
Mediamax reports that, referring to the results of the checks of Armenia’s Control Chamber, the Prime Minister said that the control over use of credit means is of “quite formal” nature.
“From formal point of view, everybody is right, no one abuses anything; however the Control Chamber made a few exercises. For instance, we purchased equipment for the Institute of Standards. It turns out that such equipment could be purchased at least twice cheaper”, the Prime Minister said.
Prime Minister expressed discontent also in connection with productiveness of the activity of experts, invited from abroad at the expense of credit means.
“They write reports, give advice, prepare draft laws. The experience and research show that use of those documents is not at a proper level. Starting from today, we should renounce technical support at the expense of the credit means. I order all Ministries to revise their credit programs with the World Bank and withdraw from them requests on technical support. Our Ministries possess sufficient intellectual capacities in order to independently carry out analysis in all spheres and research the world practice”, Prime Minister said.
