Yerevan /Mediamax/. The delegation headed by first Deputy Defense Minister of Armenia Davit Tonoyan took part in a seminar on "Common European Security and Defense Policy" in Vilnius on July 2-3.
The event was organized by the Lithuanian Defense Ministry which took up the EU Presidency within the EU Eastern Partnership program, the press service of the Armenian Defense Ministry reports this.
In his speech, Davit Tonoyan proposed a number of approaches for using the options of EU-Armenia defense cooperation within Eastern Partnership aimed at particularly eliminating repetition and ensuring complementarity of Armenia's cooperation programs with CSTO, OSCE, NATO.
"In particular, taking into account the fact that as set by the Armenian National Security Strategy, Armenia's full participation in international and regional integration processes is entirely within Armenia's interests. It was noted that during the new strategic review of defense due next year, the clarification of the role of cooperation with the EU will be paid extra attention to", the press release of the Armenian Defense Ministry reads this.
