Yerevan /Mediamax/. "Initiatives for Development of Armenia” (IDeA) foundation has set up "Dilijan Development Fund”.

IDeA Foundation Co-Founder Veronika Zonabend and “Dilijan Development Fund” Director Arthur Hakobyan stated it at the press-conference in Dilijan on May 31.

“If we want UWC Dilijan College to become the organic part of the city, then the city should undergo a number of changes”, said Veronika Zonabend pointing out that the fund was set up in order to contribute to exactly those changes.

Dilijan Development Fund and IDeA Foundation took part in the events organized in Dilijan for the International Children’s Day by cleaning Dilijan’s city lake and the adjacent territory as well as giving out ice-creams to local Dilijan children for free.

The director of the newly set up fund Arthur Hakobyan said that they aim to convert Dilijan into a cultural and tourism center, increase its attractiveness for investors, tourists and local residents.

The main areas of the fund’s activities include economic development, providing city infrastructures and services, as well as the development of educational, cultural areas and public life.

“At this stage it’s hard to assess the volume of the required funds, but obviously, large investments should be made”, said Arthur Hakobyan. He noted that besides the funds allocated by the founders, the fund will spare no effort to attract funds from international donors and private companies.
