Yerevan /Mediamax/. The UN has agreed to send an Armenian platoon within the Italian contingent to Lebanon to perform UNIFIL peacekeeping mission.
The mission details are currently at the final stage of coming to terms with the Italian party, the press service of the Armenian Defense Ministry reports.
At the meeting held with Armenian Defense Minister today, newly appointed Italian Ambassador Giovanni Rachuli and newly appointed Military attaché Giovanni Armentani /residence Moscow/ noted that the Italian Armed Forces are aware of the vocational training and experience of Armenian peacekeepers and expect to launch the joint mission in the near future.
The Italian party is sure the mission will serve a new impetus for the development of bilateral collaboration in other spheres.
