Yerevan/Mediamax/. “Atlas of Borges” photo exhibition devoted to world famous Argentine writer Jorge Luis Borges opened in “Academia” Yerevan gallery today.

Borges’s widow, Maria Kodama Schweitzer, attended the opening of the exhibition, Mediamax reports.

Since 1975, the Argentine writer started traveling to various countries. About 100 photos featuring Borges and his wife trying a Chinese dish, while flying in a balloon, against the background of Egyptian pyramids etc. are shown in the exhibition.

“I remember once Borges asked me where I first traveled and I answered – to the moon”, Maria Kodama said at the opening of the exhibition.

She said that she got acquainted with Borges when she was only 12 years old. Since 1975, she worked as a literary secretary of Borges. “Borges dictated me his ideas and I wrote them down. It was hard work”, said the writer’s widow.

Since 1988, Maria Kodama Schweitzer has been the Chairman of the “Jorge Luis Borges” international foundation.

Armenian Minister of Culture Hasmik Poghosyan stated today that Buenos Ayres presents Borges, one of the most prominent Argentine writers, through this exhibition.
