Yerevan/Mediamax/. Armenia will take part in "Eurovision 2012” song contest due to be held in Baku in May 2012.
This information is placed on the “Eurovision 2012” official site. It reads that Armenia is among 43 countries to have applied for participation, Mediamax reports.
Sietse Bakker, Event Supervisor Eurovision Song Contest, said this in his interview to Mediamax January 13, 2012.
“The EBU itself does not provide security guarantees, since providing such service is outside of our scope. However, we do request security guarantees and services from the Host Broadcaster and the respective authorities and/or partners. In this year's case, we have been given security guarantees applicable to all participating delegations from the Prime Minster of Azerbaijan. Additionally, Armenia's possible participation has been discussed with Baku city officials in August of last year, to reaffirm that security guarantees would apply to the Armenian delegation specifically as well. All potential participants, including AMPTV, have been informed about the PM's guarantees”, Sietse Bakker said in his interview to Mediamax.
It’s not known yet who will represent Armenia in Baku.
