Yerevan /Mediamax/. Armenian President Armen Sarkissian has participated in the annual Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week in UAE both as a head of state and key speaker.
Mediamax correspondent accompanying the President has shared the most noteworthy remarks from his speech.
From grey to green future
Everyone is talking about the climate change. We need to be very careful and discuss not the changes themselves, but their impact on the environment. The best example is atomic energy. Although its impact on the environment is minimal, it creates nuclear fuel and waste that we should take into account. We use only a fraction of the produced nuclear fuel. We have to neutralize it or store it for the future generations.
Globalization on quantum level
People say that globalization is slowing down, but it does not stop and it will never stop for one simple reason. It began as macro process and came a long way to become micro globalization. I call it globalization on quantum level. Even with certain limitations, we will be unable to stop the flow of ideas and startups, which is the new engine of industry. Quantum globalization worldwide cannot be stopped.
AI as the brain of industrial revolution
Artificial intelligence is becoming the brain of industrial revolution. I would like to note that there is no fourth industrial revolution. What we are facing and what the younger generation will face tomorrow is a constant, daily revolution. It is underpinned by huge knowledge in science and technology, but the engine of the process is artificial intelligence.
The countries or companies that invest in AI are moving in the right direction, because AI combined with our knowledge will drastically change the world and the way we solve problems.
Rapid evolution
Our times are not a period of large industrial companies. We live in the century when innovations and startups rule the world. Look at the largest companies in the world. They are not oil companies, but enterprises created by youngsters in garages, which grew into corporations worth billions of dollars. Our solutions will depend on the new ways of industrial revolution. I call it rapid evolution.
