Yerevan /Mediamax/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan today has received the Russian government’s delegation headed by Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
The delegation features Deputy PMs Alexey Overchuk and Alexey Novak, as well as Health Minister Mikhail Murashko, Head of the Fifth Service of the Federal Security Service Sergey Beseda, Head of the Federal Service for Oversight and Consumer Protection and Welfare Anna Popova, Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko, and Deputy Minister Timur Maksimov.
“I would like to thank my Russian colleagues for their support not only during the military crisis but also during the coronavirus. I think we have all felt Russia’s support during this period, especially in recent months, and the friendly and allied relations that have traditionally existed between our countries.
We have a rather big agenda of discussion. I am certain we will come to resolve many issues, not only current but also strategic, because the military and political situation in our region has changed, taking into account the known circumstances and events. I believe we need to rethink our strategic vision in the context of the near and distant future. I think we have common views and plans in this regard and we should clarify them during today’s talks,” said Nikol Pashinyan.
Referring to Turkey’s role in maintaining the ceasefire in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone, Lavrov has stressed that the Russian-Turkish monitoring center will operate exclusively remotely, said the Armenian government’s press service.
