Yerevan /Mediamax/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has stated today that "there is no diplomatic solution to the Karabakh conflict at this stage.”

He has addressed the nation live today. Mediamax presents key remarks of the Prime Minister.

No diplomatic solution at the moment

“We have to admit that the hopes for a diplomatic solution are gone in this situation,” said Nikol Pashinyan.

He has explained that “Azerbaijan disagrees with what we agree to and what we might agree to.”

Moreover, said Pashinyan, Azerbaijan’s President insists that “the only acceptable option is the capitulation of Artsakh.”

Relations with Russia

Nikol Pashinyan has noted he highly appreciates Armenia’s relations with Russia.

“We feel Russia’s support as the strategic ally of the Republic of Armenia and the Armenian people,” he said.

Pashinyan has said that the two countries maintain constant contact and productive cooperation.

“Russia does the utmost and will continue to do the utmost, I have no doubt about it,” stressed the Prime Minister.

What Armenians should do

“We have one thing to do: take up arms and fight for the rights of our people to the end, so that we can achieve a settlement of the conflict that is final, complete,” said Nikol Pashinyan.

He has called on heads of local administrations, parties and NGOs to form volunteer groups and transfer them to the command of the General Staff of the Armed Forces.

The situation on the front and Azerbaijan’s losses

Nikol Pashinyan has stated that the situation on the front is “quite difficult, tough, with military actions underway in the entire southern sector.”

According to him, “Azerbaijan is throwing the last reserves into the fighting.” “Yes, they have huge resources, but our army is inflicting an indescribable amount of losses on Azerbaijani forces. One of the reasons Baku does not implement the ceasefire is that it has lost nearly 10,000 troops. Azerbaijan also fears that the bodies of Syrian mercenaries and Turkish troops will be discovered,” stated Pashinyan.
