Yerevan /Mediamax/. President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has given an interview to Turkish TV Channel Haber Turk.

Mediamax presents some noteworthy remarks based on the report of Interfax-Azerbaijan agency.

The world will change

“After the war in Karabakh, not only the region but also the world will change. It is already changing. Everyone has seen our strength, we will be reckoned with at a higher level. The role of Azerbaijan in regional issues will grow even more. The Turkish-Azerbaijani union will strengthen even more, it is vital for both Azerbaijan and Turkey.”

Possible recognition of Artsakh

“Armenia’s efforts toward recognition of the independence of Nagorno-Karabakh are inappropriate and harmful for themselves. The territorial integrity of Azerbaijan is recognized by the whole world, including the countries of the OSCE Minsk Group. I do not believe that any country will recognize Nagorno-Karabakh, because in less than an hour we will sever all diplomatic relations with that country. These efforts of Armenia are aimed at its own society.”

Peacekeepers

“The presence of peacekeeping forces in Nagorno-Karabakh is possible only with the consent of the two countries. If any of the countries vetoes this, naturally, there will be no peacekeepers. When they talk about peacekeepers, they are talking about the sovereign territory of Azerbaijan. Without our consent, no country can send peacekeepers to our territories.

In the basic principles, the presence of peacekeepers is the very last point. First, the territories must be returned to Azerbaijan, the IDPs must return to their lands, the borders should open, trade should be established, and only after that I do not rule out the arrival of peacekeepers.”

The mercenaries, the statements of France and Russia

“We were not presented with any evidence of the presence of foreign mercenaries in the Azerbaijani army. There were statements from the French and Russian sides, but no more, no detailed information was provided. Our intelligence services contacted these countries for evidence, but they did not provide anything. You must either provide evidence or take your words back.”
