Yerevan /Mediamax/. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has said that the Armenian Prime Minister should "thank Putin for the fact that Russia has once again come to Armenia’s rescue.”
Aliyev has made that remark in an interview with RBK TV channel, which was broadcast today and to which Interfax-Azerbaijan agency refers.
“The Armenian leadership should finally understand that one cannot speak the language of ultimatums, insults and blackmail with Azerbaijan. I have never allowed myself such a tone of communication with anyone, neither within the country, nor even more so abroad. But when Pashinyan put forward an ultimatum to all of us, when he insulted the feelings of Azerbaijanis, he should have been punished for this, and we did it. And let him thank Putin for the fact that once again Russia came to save Armenia,” Aliyev said.
He has also said that “during the talks in Moscow Azerbaijan did not insist on complete capitulation of Armenia."
“We proceeded from the premise that, of course, it is preferable to resolve the conflict by political means. Therefore, within the framework of the consultations in Moscow, we did not o demand from them complete capitulation at the negotiating table,”Aliyev said.
