Yerevan /Mediamax/. Ambassador Samantha Power, U.S. Permanent Representative to the United Nations, spoke about "Genocide denial against the Armenians”.

Samantha Power spoke about this on November 30 when delivering “The Inexorable Joyfulness of Elie Wiesel” remarks at the U.S. Holocaust Museum Memorial Tribute.

“Injustice was still all around. Genocide denial against the Armenians, the horrors of his lifetime - Pol Pot, Bosnia, Rwanda, Darfur, Syria, in his later years. He lived to see more and more people bear witness to unspeakable atrocities, but he also saw indifference remained too widespread”, U.S. Ambasador said.

Mediamax notes that Elie Wiesel, who passed away this year, was the Co-Chair of the Aurora Prize for Awakening Humanity that is presented annually on behalf of the survivors of the Armenian Genocide and in gratitude to their saviors.

U.S. Administration does not recognize the mass killings of Armenians in Ottoman Turkey in 1915-1923 as “Genocide”. U.S. Ambassador to Armenia John Evans lost his job because he called the mass killings a “Genocide”.
