Yerevan /Mediamax/. Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, who is on a working visit in Georgia, has said today that Armenia-Georgia relations have developed lately and entered a new phase.

The Armenian President stated it in Tbilisi following his meeting with President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili .

“Active high-level political dialogue and mutual visits between our countries come to vividly prove my point. I also attach importance to the fact that the strengthening of bilateral relations is carried out under conditions of complete mutual trust”, said Serzh Sargsyan.

The President noted that Armenia's joining the Eurasian Economic Union and Georgia’s signing of Association Agreement with the EU didn’t affect bilateral economic relations.

“I’m convinced that the involvement of our countries in different integration structures doesn’t hinder our cooperation, moreover, it enhances our opportunities”, stressed the Armenian President recalling that bilateral trade turnover increased in 2014 and the same tendency is present in 2015 as of the 9 months.

Touching upon Saint Gevorg Church consecration ceremony that will be held in Tbilisi tomorrow, the Armenian President thanked the Georgian authorities for supporting the restoration works.

“I believe that only this way, by treating each other’s cultural heritage with care, can we maintain and increase our achievements”, stressed Serzh Sargsyan.
