Yerevan/Mediamax/. Armenian Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Armen Movsisyan stated today that “Russia has not so far offered a new tariff for the supplied gas”.
Mediamax reports that the Minister said this at the hearings in the parliament.
The Minister recalled that the tariff for gas was one of the key topics during the recent meeting between Armenian and Russian Presidents. “An agreement was reached that even if there are changes, the tariff for gas for the population of Armenia would remain unchanged”, he said.
Chairman of the Public Services Regulatory Committee (PSRC) of Armenia Robert Nazaryan added that if tariffs for gas are changed, the corresponding document should be presented to PSRC for registration. However, according to him, PSRC has not received such a document and Armenia still pays USD 180 for 1000 cubic meters of Russian gas.
