Yerevan/Mediamax/. NATO Deputy Secretary General for Defense Policy and Planning Hussein Dirioz said in Yerevan today that the Alliance is concerned about how the Syrian government suppresses the unrest in the country by using violence against its people.
Hussein Dirioz said this answering a question of one of the participants of the discussion organized by the Information Center on NATO in Armenia, Mediamax reports.
According to him, the situation in Syria poses a threat to the stability and security in the region but NATO thinks that the situation should be considered in a broader context taking into account the positions and with the support of UN and regional organizations such as the League of Arab States.
