Yerevan /Mediamax/. The meeting of Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents is scheduled to take place in The Hague on March 23-25.

Secretary of the National Security Council Artur Baghdasaryan stated it today, Mediamax reports.

“Despite the ongoing bellicose and anti-Armenian propaganda, Armenia is still for the continuation of the negotiation process”, said Artur Baghdasaryan stressing the importance of activation of communication between Armenian and Azerbaijani societies as well.

Speaking at the “NATO Partnership in the South Caucasus: Strategic Approach to Regional Security” international conference Artur Baghdasaryan highlighted that Armenia acts in favor of finding a compromise solution to the issues in the South Caucasus and not of indiscriminate confrontation.

The situation is stable in the South Caucasus but it still concerns Armenia as the activation of existing conflicts can seriously threaten the region’s stability. In this context, Artur Baghdasaryan hailed the regulation of Armenian-Turkish relations as well as the peaceful and “mutually conceivable concessions” aimed at the settlement of Karabakh conflict.

“Unfortunately, we have not observed any practical steps by Turkey while Armenia stands ready to establish diplomatic relations with Turkey and to open the border without any preconditions. In this regard, we attach importance to the support of our international partners as well”, stated Artur Baghdasaryan.
