Air-gunners to be trained in Russian base in Armenia

Yerevan/Mediamax/. Trainings with air-gunners with the use of modern unmanned aerial vehicles kicked off at Kakhmud high-altitude training complex of the Russian military base of the South Military District.

In the first stage, the officers will take a theoretical course and then will practice guiding of helicopters and airplanes to the target with the indication of the course and reference points, in big and small heights, in simple and complicated meteorological conditions at night and during the day, the South Military District press service reports. 

 

The instruction and methodic classes are held with the air-gunners to develop officers’ skills of guiding helicopters of Mi-8, Mi-24 and MiG-29 fighters in a single order, in couples and links to the surface targets.

 

To better master the study material, the military servicemen will practice UAVs of Granat and Zastava. The UAVs will play a role of imitation of helicopters and airplanes.

 

The classes of air-gunners will end at the military unit in Transcaucasia with the real elaboration of exercises with the use of 4th generation fighters of MiG-29 of South Military District and conventional military application to definite target at Kakhmud and Alagyaz polygons.
