The next “debut” at Synergy Academy was with QA Automation courses. At the end of these courses, Synergy provided 33 young beginners an opportunity to enter the IT sector in Yerevan, Stepanakert, Gyumri and Vanadzor.
Synergy’s entry to Vanadzor
As far as the proportional regional development of the IT sector has always been a target of the company’s strategy, this year Synergy opened a branch in Vanadzor as well. The specialists from Vanadzor have already started working in the branch. The official opening will take place in January 2022.

“Armenia has a great potential, especially in the natural sciences, and when talents do not have the opportunity to work, they are forced to leave their native settlements and move to the capital. Through its branches, Synergy creates opportunities for these young people to stay, work and build their birthplace. Synergy does not only create jobs in the regions, but also develops an IT community, takes the company’s 24-year-old corporate culture to the region, thus infecting local organizations with its management approaches and often becoming a stimulus for other IT companies to open a branch in the region,” Synergy Armenia Director Anna Stepanyan said in summer of 2021.

The 5th anniversary of Gyumri branch
2021 was a jubilee year for the Gyumri branch of Synergy, which celebrated its 5th anniversary. The branch, which started working in 2016 with 5 employees, now has a staff of 20 people, all from Shirak region.
“Our company deals with technological systems, the users are the governments and affiliated financial organizations. At the moment, the Gyumri team is working on several projects,” Zaven Chilingaryan, head of Synergy’s Gyumri team, said.

As to what significance Synergy attaches to the role of the Gyumri branch, the company showed by conducting one of the biggest IT events of 2021 in Gyumri.
In November 2021, the company organized the Scale Gyumri tech conference, which was attended by more than 500 participants and 36 speakers.
“There is an interesting coincidence – this year we celebrate the 5th anniversary of our office in Gyumri. The fact of having enthusiastic and developed partners there inspired us a lot to organize the conference in Gyumri,” Anna Stepanyan said.
ScaleTalks and expanded format
From April 2021 Synergy has launched a new project – ScaleTalks – a platform for IT specialists to exchange knowledge and experience.
Since December, the ScaleTalks experience exchange platform has expanded its format involving speakers from abroad. This December, Jhora Zakaryan from Linked-In delivered a speech online for the first time.
