Today we live in a society, which cannot imagine life without expressing views on social media. Probably it does have certain advantages. Nevertheless, many participants of active discussions have already forgotten or do not even know about the developments, which unfolded in Armenia 5, 10 or 15 years ago.

To fill the gap Mediamax presents 5/10/15 project, which introduces developments in Armenia 5, 10 and 15 years ago.

Violence against Yezidis

Armenian President’s Spokesperson Arman Saghatelyan stated on August 19 that Armenia was deeply concerned with the large-scale violence against Yezidi population going on in the north of Iraq which resulted in numerous deaths.

“Use of violence against any ethnic or religious minorities, particularly against Iraqi Yezidis is absolutely unacceptable and the international community should take immediate steps to stop it as soon as possible, support the victims and deliver humanitarian aid.

The Armenian President gave assignments to the Foreign Ministry and heads of diplomatic missions to double their efforts for handling the issue on the international arena at a proper level,” the statement reads.

No progress

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan said on August 25 that “since 2011, we have not had any significant progress” in NK peace process.

“The failure of the Kazan talks by Azerbaijan was the last haven. There were no corrections or additions to the document after that,” Serzh Sargsyan said at the meeting with participants of “Together” youth forum.

According to the President, Armenia’s efforts are aimed at Azerbaijan’s recognition of the NK people’s right of determination of their own fate. “We do not have another issue, and we want the process to take place in a peaceful way and not at the cost of new victims,” Serzh Sargsyan said.
