Yerevan /Mediamax/. On March 11, His Holiness Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians, hailed the 100 LIVES initiative.

“From the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, with a delight of the soul and great joy we hail and give our patriarchal blessing to the faithful sons of the Holy Church – Ruben Vardanyan, Vartan Gregorian and Noubar Afeyan – for the launch of 100 LIVES humanitarian initiative.

It is noteworthy that this initiative, which has won international interest, is being launched during the days of the commemoration of the Armenian Genocide Centennial. With its notable stories 100 LIVES initiative proves that the Armenian people recall with gratitude those humane and noble-minded people who stretched out a helping hand to Armenians during the hardest and most tragic moment of their history, and helped them live and preserve their national identity.

We highlight that 100 LIVES has assumed a role of a unique bridge leading from the past to the present and from the present to future. In this regard, the mission of “Aurora” award bearing the name of Arshaluys Mardiganian also deserves appreciation. It will be awarded to our present day heroes, to those benevolent persons who under various circumstances prove their humanism though their deeds and life,” noted the Supreme Patriarch.

His holiness also expressed his gratitude to everyone supporting and having their input in 100 LIVES initiative. “Let 100 LIVES initiative and “Aurora” Prize serve as a new incentive and impetus for the reawakening of humanism in humanity and prevention of repetition of such tragedies,” said Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II wishing a progress to this godly initiative.
