Yerevan /Mediamax/. Vladimir Yevseev, head of Caucasus Department of the CIS Institute, believes that Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has “pushed” President Armen Sarkissian out of politics.

“Sarkissian was not Pashinyan’s man and played own game which did not please the premier. Pashinyan is a person who wants to decide everything on his own. It is pretty clear, that now Pashinyan’s man will take the post of the president of Armenia. Civil Contract party is a majority in the parliament, therefore no problems will occur,” the expert told in an interview with TASS.

“Explaining his resignation, Sarkissian referred to the absence of authorities. But he did not have them originally. He should have to somehow explain his leaving and he did it in this way,” the political analyst said.

Yevseev suggested that while choosing a candidate for the post of a new president, Pashinyan will consider both the opinion of Russia and the West.
