Yerevan /Mediamax/. Armenian President Armen Sarkissian stated that “to keep the country from political shocks early parliamentary elections are inevitable.”

“In recent days, I have held political consultations and dozens of meetings with parliamentary and non-parliamentary forces, various NGOs and individuals. I have held telephone conversations with various organizations from the Diaspora. The absolute majority of the participants of the meetings agree on one issue: resignation of the Prime Minister or termination of the term of office in accordance with the Constitution and early parliamentary elections,” the President said in his address.

“In my opinion, the only responsible approach could be that the government and the ruling political force objectively assess their own potential and in a short period of time present a roadmap which provides a timeline for initiating relevant constitutional processes, as a result of which it will be possible to hold early elections to the National Assembly. Meanwhile, the power will be handed over to a highly qualified Government of National Accord,” said Armen Sarkissian.
