Yerevan /Mediamax/. Vladimir Putin has stated that Russia is calling on all parties to Nagorno-Karabakh conflict to cease fire as soon as possible.
The President of Russia has made the statement in the exclusive interview to the program “Moscow. Kremlin. Putin” at Russian State TV.
Putin has underlined that all parties to the conflict “aren’t strangers to us.”
“About 2 million Azerbaijanis and over 2 million Armenians live in Russia. A huge number of Russian citizens have close friendly and even family relations with both republics. The deaths, heavy losses on both sides are a huge tragedy,” Putin said.
He has recalled that Armenia is a member of the CSTO and Russia has certain obligations to Armenia within the framework of the treaty.
“As for the fulfillment of Russia’s treaty obligations, we have always fulfilled them. We are fulfilling them now and will continue to fulfill them in the future,” Putin said. The Russian President has added that he is has “constant, live working connection” with the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan and “the Armenian leadership has no questions about the quality of Russia’s implementation of its allied commitments.”
