Yerevan /Mediamax/. Moscow expects that the bilateral dialogue with Washington on Nagorno-Karabakh will help find a way out of the current alarming situation in the region, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov told TASS today.
According to him, Russia and the United States maintain intensive contacts on the issue.
“We expect this work to be politically significant in terms of getting out of the current crisis situation. A dialogue is underway with a focus on the formation of a political impulse in favor of the de-escalation and stabilization of the situation in this region,” he said.
At the same time, the Russian official pointed out that since the topic of Nagorno-Karabakh “concerns a number of countries and there is an approved format, the dialogue with the United States is not a substitute, replacement or any alternative to other formats in this area.”
