Yerevan /Mediamax/. Russian and Armenian Foreign Ministers Sergey Lavrov and Zohrab Mnatsakanyan have acknowledged at a meeting in Moscow today that the agreement on a humanitarian truce is not being observed.
Mnatsakanyan has arrived in Moscow today on an official visit, which was planned beforehand.
At the beginning of the meeting, Sergey Lavrov has recalled that negotiations were held in Moscow at the initiative of Russian President Vladimir Putin on October 9-10, following which the foreign ministers of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan issued a trilateral statement.
“However, the ceasefire is not fully observed, the hostilities continue,” Lavrov said, noting that Russia expected to continue working with Armenian and Azerbaijani partners to achieve the implementation of the mentioned agreements.
Zohrab Mnatsakanyan has stated that what is happening in Artsakh is “a real threat to the security of the entire region” and it has become the embodiment of “the existential threat to the lives of our compatriots, which has been ripening for decades and about which we have been talking all the time.”
The Armenian Foreign Minister has thanked the President and Foreign Minister of Russia for their personal contribution to the results achieved at the talks on October 9-10.
“Today we can register that Azerbaijan does not fulfill these agreements and continues large-scale aggression,” Mnatsakanyan said. He has underlined that Azerbaijan is purposefully targeting civilians and critical infrastructure of Artsakh, using prohibited types of weapons as well.
Zohrab Mnatsakanyan has stressed that Azerbaijan unleashed a war with direct involvement of Turkey and radical fighters recruited by Ankara, a fact that has been proven by the international community.
