Yerevan /Mediamax/. Annual "Diplomat of the Year" awarding ceremony took place in London.
"Diplomat of the Year - 2013" award was presented in 10 nominations.
The award meant for Eurasian region was granted posthumously to Armenia's Ambassador to UK Karine Ghazinyan for “exceptional achievements and presenting the interests of the country most efficiently”.
Ambassadors and diplomats of over 150 countries accredited in the United Kingdom, representatives of Foreign Office and business community took part in the awards ceremony.
Armenia's temporary chargé d'affaires in Great Britain Ara Margaryan received Karine Ghazinyan's award.
Karine Ghazinyan died in December 2012 during an operation.
In 1997-1999, Karine Ghazinyan was Armenia's temporary chargé d'affaires in Romania, 1999-2001- Armenia's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Romania.
In 2001-2009, she was Armenia's Ambassador to Germany.
In 2009-2011, she held the posts of Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia and Chief Negotiator of Armenia-EU Association Agreement.
She was appointed Armenia's Ambassador to Great Britain in September 2011.
