Yerevan /Mediamax/. Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Avinyan has stated today that Armenia has ranked 68th out of 193 countries on the UN E-Government Development index.

This is a 19-point improvement on Armenia’s rank in the previous index.

“Armenia is among the countries that rank the highest in terms of e-government engagement. With electronic tools, we want to further facilitate the citizens’ involvement in decision making,” said Avinyan.

The Deputy PM has also announced that the government has launched another key tool for electronic democracy and engaged governance – the electronic petition platform, which enables citizens to submit individual and collective petitions, support initiatives, follow the progress of petitions and receive the response to them by email.
