Yerevan /Mediamax/. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev stated that he considers Armenia’s attempts to raise the issue on status of Karabakh "unpromising.”

“Unfortunately, to date, the issue on status of Karabakh is being raised which is absolutely unpromising. I think it is harmful and dangerous for Armenia in its current poor condition. They should not forget the lessons of the second Karabakh war. If Armenia continues brining territorial claims to Azerbaijan, it will be difficult for us to refrain from response claims to Armenia. We have more grounds for it regarding the historical belonging of the same Zangezur and the same region of Lake Geicha (Sevan-Mediamax), we have more historical background for territorial claims. But we don’t do it,” Ilham Aliyev said in an interview with Russian “National Defense” magazine quoted by Interfax-Azerbaijan.

“They’d better not make us angry and not irritate but agree till our offer is on the table. The same may happen as with the war. We offered Armenia to stop in time. We offered them leave our occupied territories voluntarily but they did not agree and now they are reaping the bitter harvest,” Azerbaijani president stated.

“We have marked our position. We are ready to start the process of delimitation and demarcation of the state border. We are ready to start working on peace pact between Armenia and Azerbaijan. We need it. The war ended. Nagorno-Karabakh conflict has been left forever in history. We need normal interaction,” Aliyev said.
