Yerevan /Mediamax/. Russian SU-24 airplane has today been shot down on Turkey-Syria border.
Quoting Russian Defense Ministry, Ria Novosti notes that the Russian military airplane was supposedly shot down from the land.
“The airplane was on the height of 6000meters. The fate of the pilots is not known yet. According to preliminary data, they managed to catapult”, the Russian Defense Ministry stated.
The Turkish Defense Ministry stated in its turn that they warned the Russian airplane against violation of air space 10 times within 5 minutes, but the warnings were neglected and consequently the plane was shot down.
The Russian Defense Ministry, however, assures, that the airplane didn’t cross the Turkish border.
The Turkish media outlets report that the airplane was shot down by 2 F-16 fighters.
