Yerevan /Mediamax/. Today, Armenian President Armen Sarkissian called on all international partners, Russia, the United States and the European Union, to fully comprehend the essence of the conflict and make clear statements to end the war.

During a remote conference called “The crisis in the Caucasus and the causes of the war” organized by the Journalists’ Union of the Athens Daily Newspapers (JUDAN), the President stated that “it should be a clear and strong statement that ceasefire is an absolute necessity and Turkey should withdraw from the conflict”.

Armen Sarkissian described as logical Greece’s proposal to impose embargo on arms sale to Turkey by EU and NATO.

“If the arms sold to Turkey were used against aggressors, international Islamist terrorists, I would have understood it. However, when they originate from NATO member states and target civilians in Artsakh, it is unacceptable. If this idea or step is approved by other countries, Armenia will welcome such an initiative,” he said.
