Yerevan /Mediamax/. Foreign Minister of Russia Sergey Lavrov has stated today that Armenia and Azerbaijan are interested in normalization of the situation in the of Karabakh conflict settlement.
TASS reports that Lavrov has made these remarks while addressing the students and faculty of Moscow State Institute of International Relations. He has said that he had conversations with his Armenian and Azerbaijani counterparts Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Jeyhun Bayramov yesterday.
“We get an impression that both sides are invested in normalization of the situation and they want renewal of meetings that OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs organize in the region,” said Lavrov.
On August 25, a day before his visit to Moscow, Jeyhun Bayramov said he believed it was too early to set a date for a meeting with Mnatsakanyan. Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, on the contrary, said in the interview to Interfax on August 31 that he was ready to meet his Azerbaijani counterpart.
