Yerevan /Mediamax/. President of the Republic of Artsakh Arayik Harutyunyan stated that the presence of the Russian peacekeepers should be “guaranteed and be of unlimited duration.”
Press service of the Artsakh president reports that Harutyunyan stated about it on April 12 in Martakert at the meeting with the heads of communities and residents.
He stressed that the talks with the Russian command of peacekeeping forces on the withdrawal of Azerbaijani forces from Parukh village and Karaglukh hill continue.
“Arayik Harutyunyan stressed that ensuring relative and fragile peace in the conflict zone is possible with the presence of Russian peacekeeping forces. The people and authorities of Artsakh are convinced that their presence must be guaranteed and be of unlimited duration with corresponding increase of the number of servicemen and military equipment,” the news release says.
Harutyunyan also said that alongside guarantees and activity of the Russian peacekeeping troops the Artsakh government will continue working on increase of efficiency of own mechanisms of security and system of civil defense.
