Yerevan /Mediamax/. Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan said in a telephone conversation with his French counterpart Jean-Yves Le Drian that Azerbaijan is trying to nullify the efforts of Co-Chair countries to establish lasting ceasefire, which is unconditionally encouraged by Turkey.
The press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry reports that the conversation mainly focused on summarizing the developments following the ceasefire agreements.
Zohrab Mnatsakanyan stated that Azerbaijan, unilaterally renouncing three ceasefire agreements reached through the direct mediation of the leaders of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair countries, continues shelling and bombing the peaceful population and infrastructures of Artsakh with banned weapons.
“Both parties highlighted the need to implement the agreements on the immediate ceasefire and establish a stable ceasefire maintained by verification mechanisms. The foreign ministers also exchanged views on the agreement to hold a meeting in Geneva,” the Armenian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
