Yerevan /Mediamax/. Head of the international committee of the upper house of the Russian parliament, Konstantin Kosachev believes that given Turkey’s support for Azerbaijan’s stance, Ankara’s participation in the negotiations on Nagorno-Karabakh will not contribute to a peaceful settlement - on the contrary, Turkey may aggravate the situation.
“This format, in my opinion, is fatal for the prospects of a political settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
In this format Ankara, unlike Moscow and other capitals of the Minsk Group countries, is superfluous, since its position duplicates that of Baku. Therefore, there is no added value in it, but there is a potential for provoking further radicalization of the approaches of the parties to the conflict,” the politician said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
