Yerevan /Mediamax/. On June 4 the first trilateral meeting Armenia-Cyprus-Greece took place in Nicosia, the capital of Cyprus. The meeting was attended by Foreign Ministers of the three countries: Zohrab Mnatsakanyan of Armenia, Nikos Christodoulides of Cyprus and Giorgos Katrougalos of Greece.

Promotion of peace
The ministers decided to establish a trilateral partnership between their countries and agreed that its purpose is the promotion of peace, stability and prosperity through enhanced political dialogue and cooperation.
They also underlined their commitment to broaden and deepen this cooperation and to identify synergies in various fields of common interest, such as economy, trade and investments, IT and innovation, culture and tourism.
Next steps
The ministers outlined the next steps for the cooperation. In particular, they agreed that the first summit at the level of heads of states and/or governments will be hosted by Armenia in January 2020.
The conflicts
“The ministers had an exchange of views on the Cyprus problem and the violations of the EEZ of the Republic of Cyprus by Turkey, the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the efforts to reduce tensions under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairmanship, and the implementation of the Prespa Agreement,” reads the joint statement.
“A very important platform”
Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan made a statement after the meeting at well, noting in particular:
“I want to underline that this is a very important platform in amplifying the traditional friendship that exists between the three nations. It’s a historical friendship, it’s a civilizational value-based friendship, which we, as sovereign states, as nation states, translate into pragmatism, into cooperation to the benefit of our nations and our peoples.”
