Pashinyan: We need to make reforms and keep healthy traditions in the army

Yerevan /Mediamax/. Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan today has stated that there is a need for reforms in the the Armed Forces.

He has made this remark at the Ministry of Defense, during the introduction of newly appointed Defense Minister Vagharshak Harutyunyan to the senior officers of the Armed Forces.

 

“We need to conduct a serious analysis of what happened, understand where we made mistakes, why we made them and what we need to do to draw conclusions. It is very important to build a new concept for our army without damaging the healthy and competitive traditions and concepts it already has, for this new concept to bring success to our Armed Forces,” said the Prime Minister.

 

Former Minister of Defense Davit Tonoyan has said:

 

“Mr. Prime Minister, Mr. Minister, I have already had the opportunity to express my opinion and approaches in my public speech. I thank again the staff, with whom we spent these difficult days. We do have problems that need to be solved as soon as possible.”

 

Davit Tonoyan has also expressed readiness to pass down his experience to the newly appointed Minister to help him overcome all problems at this very difficult and crucial time.

 

New Defense Minister Vagharshak Harutyunyan has announced he will draft a reform package shortly, which will preserve the positive aspects of the army as well.
