Yerevan /Mediamax/. Armenia’s Minister of Defense Davit Tonoyan has discussed the operational situation in Nagorno-Karabakh and matters related to the activities of the Russian peacekeepers with his Russian counterpart Sergei Shoigu.
Davit Tonoyan has thanked Shoigu for quick and efficient deployment of the peacekeepers, as well as for organizing the search and exchange of dead servicemen, captives, hostages and missing persons.
The press service of the Armenia Ministry of Defense has said that the parties made a special emphasis on the humanitarian situation in Nagorno-Karabakh.
The Armenian Defense Minister has expressed his support for the establishment of a Russian interdepartmental humanitarian response center in Nagorno-Karabakh, which will deal with the return of refugees, restoration of civilian infrastructure, search for the dead, captives and missing persons and various humanitarian issues, and with coordination of the activities of humanitarian organizations.
The two Ministers of Defense have also agreed that if necessary, a trilateral document can be signed on this between the Ministries of Defense of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan.
