Yerevan /Mediamax/. Defense Ministry of Armenia has announced that although the government is easing certain coronavirus-related restrictions, the Armed Forces will maintain the preventive measures and some restrictions to stop COVID-19 from spreading in the army.
The Defense Ministry has stated that owing to the restrictions, current coronavirus situation in the army is manageable.
The ministry will keep the following restrictions:
- The ban on all types of holiday and free leave as well as visits for conscript soldiers,
- The ban on any visits for personal meetings to army facilities and places of permanent deployment, including visits to members of the military who are receiving treatment in hospital,
- The order to conscript soldiers to limit and exclude, when possible, contacts with civilian population and refrain from attending mass gatherings (festivities, celebrations, funerals, etc.).
