Yerevan /Mediamax/. Armenian Minister of Defense Davit Tonoyan and his Lebanese counterpart Zeina Akar have discussed the coronavirus situation in the two countries’ armed forces. Their conversation has been held on the phone today.
Zeina Akar has highlighted the importance of Armenian troops’ participation in UNIFIL mission in Lebanon. In response, Davit Tonoyan has reiterated the determination of the Armenian side to continue the mission.
The Defense Ministers have also touched on the need to expand and strengthen military cooperation between the two countries.
Armenian peacekeepers have been serving in UNIFIL mission in Lebanon since November 2014. Since 4 December 2014, the defense of Shama military base in Lebanon is conducted fully by Armenian troops.
