Yerevan /Mediamax/. Bright Armenia and Republic will run in the early parliamentary elections on December 9 not as the unified "Light” ("Luys”) alliance, but as separate political parties with their own lists.
“After long discussions we have come to the conclusion that this is the best option. At the same time I would like to stress that our cooperation is not exhausted and it might be resumed in the future for the benefit of Armenian citizens,” Bright Armenia leader Edmon Marukyan remarked today on the breakup of the alliance.
Leader of Republic Party Aram Sargsyan wrote on his Facebook page:
“I am sorry the alliance is no more. You can be certain that we will work for the benefit of the country and the people as individual actors as well, there is no alternative in this regard.”
“Light” alliance was formed on September 23, 2018 to run in the elections to Yerevan Council of Elders.
