Yerevan/Mediamax/. “Armenia is confident of its ongoing democratic development,” Foreign Minister of Armenia Zohrab Mnatsakanyan said at the UN Office at Geneva, while answering questions about the mentioned development and the Karabakh peace talks by an Azerbaijani diplomat.

“Democracy in the region, in every country of it, will contribute heavily to peace and stability in the region,” said Mnatsakanyan.

Touching on the Karabakh conflict, he stressed that Artsakh is the people living there.

“Artsakh is populated by 150,000 real people. They have names, families, and substantial concerns over their physical security. There is no other safe system for them but the one they have now. Armenia is the guarantor of the security of Karabakh, because it has no other guarantees,” added Zohrab Mnatsakanyan.

“Are we going to accept a situation threatening another attempt at annihilation? No. Do we want peace? Obviously. Is there an alternative to peace? This is a reason to think,” concluded the Foreign Minister.
