Yerevan /Mediamax/. President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated in Baku that Armenian-Turkish relations will not normalize as long as Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is not settled.

As Trend informs, Erdogan stated it at the extended meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev.

“Official Ankara has stated it more than once”, the Turkish President stated.

At that, the Armenian-Turkish protocols signed in Zurich five years ago when Erdogan held the post of the Turkish Prime-Minister provided for the normalization of relations without any preconditions.

“We are very happy for your official visit to Azerbaijan a few days after your inauguration.  It proves once again that Turkish-Azerbaijani ties are at their peak”, Ilham Aliyev said.

It should be recalled that Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian attended the inauguration ceremony and extended the Turkish President an invitation to visit Yerevan on April 24, 2015 in order to take part in the events dedicated to Armenian Genocide Centennial committed in Ottoman Turkey.
