Yerevan /Mediamax/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said what he is expecting from Russia.

“Russia is Armenia’s strategic partner, as well as an OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair. We expect Russia to take more effective and concrete steps stop the offensive actions of Azerbaijan and Turkey in the region. I think the rest of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs and the international community as a whole should help Russia in its efforts,” he said in an interview with French Libération. The text of the interview was disseminated by the press service of the Armenian government.

When asked about why the ceasefire regime is not working, Nikol Pashinyan said:

“Because, in fact, Azerbaijan has rejected it. It is obvious that Turkey did not allow Azerbaijan to comply with the ceasefire agreement. Because, even when the possibility of truce was being discussed the Turkish President publicly expressed hope that Azerbaijan would not stop hostilities. And in this context, it is important to emphasize that this war would not have started had Turkey not intervened, because it was Turkey that incited Azerbaijan to attack. Turkish units took part in the offensive. The Turkish military took part in the hostilities. It was Turkey that transferred mercenaries and terrorists from Syria to the conflict zone and involved them in the attack on Nagorno-Karabakh.”
