Yerevan /Mediamax/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has no doubts that Turkey wants to get rid of Armenians.

“This is the historical goal of Turkey,” the PM told France 24.

“This is the continuation of Turkey’s policy of Armenian Genocide. 100 years later Turkey is back in the South Caucasus to continue the Armenian Genocide. And, it is not just a way to take revenge on Armenians or unleash hatred for Armenians, but Armenians in the South Caucasus are the last obstacle in the way of Turkey and their expansion,” Pashinyan said.

When asked about the fact that Turkey is a member of NATO, the PM said:

“Just a month ago, this NATO member state attacked another NATO member - Greece. What is Turkey doing in the Mediterranean, Syria, Iraq? Today, Turkey has a clear objective of reinstating the Turkish empire.”

Nikol Pashinyan stressed that “peaceful settlement can be seriously discussed when the terrorists and Turkey leave the region.”

“Let no one think that it is too far from Europe. It is not far from Europe, and this is why I am saying that Armenia and Karabakh have become the civilizational frontlines,” Pashinyan told France 24.
