Armenian Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanian expressed optimism in Key West over progress made. "Certainly there are some complications because this is a very complicated process, but overall we think things are moving forward," he said.

Speaking to RFE/RL, Oskanian said separate sessions between international mediators and Armenian President Robert Kocharian are proceeding successfully. He noted that the Armenian side is not informed about the results of the talks between the mediators and Geidar Aliev. Oskanian said “if there is a similarly positive movement with regard to Azerbaijan, I think that some progress might be made in the talks."

"We and the co-chairs have indeed worked very seriously on maps," Oskanian told RFE/RL.

Vahe Gabrielyan, press secretary for Robert Kocharian said to Daily Citizen paper, published in Florida, that the President caught three big fish, cobia, tuna and kingfish, one of which was 40 pounds. Gabrielyan said one of the jobs of security guards has been keeping up with the president on jet skis. "So far, he has gone twice," he said.

The French, Russian, and American co-chairs said they are preparing "a new comprehensive proposal that addresses the problems and needs identified by the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia that require solution to achieve peace".

“Serious and intense discussions were held over four days of work. The Presidents demonstrated goodwill and a strong commitment to resolve this conflict on the basis of mutual compromise”, the communique said.
