Yerevan /Mediamax/. Armenia and Russia are yet to agree on the gas price, according to acting Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan.
During a Facebook live he made several remarks about his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin held in Kremlin on December 27.
“There no decision on the gas price yet, but I am optimistic about it and I believe we will get a desirable outcome. In any case, we won’t have an undesirable outcome,” said Pashinyan, adding that both parties understand the sensitive nature of this topic regarding bilateral relations.
The current Armenian-Russian agreement, which sets the price for Russian gas at USD 150 per 1,000 cubic meters, is expiring on December 31.
Nikol Pashinyan noted that he and Putin did not touch on Karabakh conflict settlement.
The two leaders had a short discussion about a possible increase of the institutional capabilities of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and a review of the organization’s statutes. Pashinyan did not mention if they talked about the appointment of the new Secretary General at CSTO.
The head of Armenian Government did mention that the meeting was held “in a very positive atmosphere” and became essentially “a summary of our contacts over the last eight months”.
